A drug trafficking ring that brought heroin, crack cocaine, Percocet, Ritalin, Xanax and Vicodin brought indictments to 11 people from Michigan and eight from MarionCounty.


Local Law enforcement in Marion, as well as federal law enforcement agencies, announced a 72-count indictment involving 19 suspects on drug related charges Wednesday afternoon. 


The federal indictment details a two-year investigation in the trafficking of large amounts of heroin, crack cocaine and prescription pills in Marion. 


The drugs were brought into Marion from Detroit, Michigan, and Fort Wayne, Indiana where they were sold to dozens of people including juveniles.


The out of town dealers purposely set up shop in Marion for the sole purpose of dealing drugs in the city.  


The indictment gave details like transactions, phone calls and other actions related to their sale and distribution of drugs from July 10, 2012, to Nov. 12, 2013.


Officials reported they were able to seize about 18 grams of heroin, about 150 grams of crack cocaine, more than 5,700 prescription pills, eight firearms and thousands of dollars during their investigation.
