Ryan Lochte Thought About Suicide After His Rio Olympics Scandal

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte says he though about committing suicide after his scandal at the Rio Olympics.

Last August, Lochte claimed that he and three other Team USA swimmers were robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in Brazil. It was later revealed that he had been drinking that night and vandalized the gas station, and that armed officials demanded payment for the damages. Lochte lost a lot of endorsement deals because of the scandal.

He tells “ESPN Magazine” in a new interview that he even contemplated suicide after the incident. Now, the 12-time Olympic medalist says he's learned a valuable lesson from the experience and is looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Lochte says, "Everyone is going to have to watch out."
