A Columbus man's comical Kickstarter campaign to raise $10 to make potato salad has already pulled in more than $38,000.
Zack Brown's campaign went viral over the weekend as he set out to make potato salad for the first time. His pitch was simple -- "Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet." The campaign still has 25 days remaining and donations continue to roll in. Brown believes thousands of people have donated because they like to unite over something as mundane as potato salad. He says, "Potato salad isn't controversial, but it seems to unite us all." Those who make large donations are promised either a bite of the potato salad, a potato salad-themed hat or a potato salad-themed haiku. Brown jokes that when it's done he wants to have a big potato salad party in Columbus, Ohio and invite the entire Internet to attend.
