Most Americans say they wouldn't be able to live without things like social media and television for more than a week. According to a survey conducted by CardRatings.com, people are the most dependent on the gadgets they use for entertainment. Seventy-nine percent of the men and 87 percent of the women surveyed say they couldn't last more than a week without their computer or tablet. Social media is a temptation for many as well. Forty-one percent of men and 57 percent of women say they would want to check in on their Facebook page after a week.

Sex comes in at number five on the list of things people can't live without, after smartphones and television. Credit cards, chocolate, pizza and beer are also among the necessities for average Americans.
