Marion Native Musician Heads To The Grammy's!

Marion native and pianist Bobby Floyd is on his way to Sunday's Grammy Awards!

Bobby grew up in Marion and has been playing the piano since he was 2 years old. He was first showcased at his family church in Marion when he was six years old. Since then, Bobby has been a regular at clubs and music festivals in Central Ohio and around the globe.

For the past six years, Floyd has been part of The Count Basie Orchestra . Last year, that orchestra released the album "All About That Basie" and Bobby played on just about every track on that album. It's been nominated for the "Best Large Jazz Ensemble" album at Sunday's Grammy's. The orchestra has been nominated for Grammy's 20 times before, but this time Bobby gets to join them on the famed Red Carpet, in the audience and hopefully on stage as an award recipient!

I've had the pleasure of working with Bobby , who lives in Columbus, when he and his band returned to Marion to play at the Popcorn Festival, the Arts Festival and other events.

Good Luck, my friend, I'll be watching you represent Marion and Central Ohio this weekend!
