Is The Gas Stove Is Headed For Extinction?

More cities in California are implementing a ban in the name of climate change. It applies to new construction beginning next year. While gas cooks evenly, it emits carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas causing climate change. Electric is the alternative, but many utilities still rely on fossil fuels or nuclear energy to power the plants.

The lesser of two evils is electricity according to proponents and the idea of going all-electric is also being considered in Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington state. Experts say the ban will not only create a cleaner environment, but lead to fewer health problems as well.

About one quarter of Americans have natural gas. And one new customer is added every minute. Basically, the fight will be about cost (gas is cheaper) and the climate.
