On Sunday evening, February 18th around 5:30pm, according to witnesses, several teenagers were engaged in an argument when someone in the group apparently opened gun fire. The incident happened in the 200 block of Superior Street on the city’s south side. It was reported that 2 boys with backpacks fled the scene on foot towards Irey Street, where witnesses say they were stopped for questioning. No one was reported injured in the shooting and police will only say they are investigating the incident. Police did identify 3 bullet casings at the scene.
UPDATE: Marion Police now say 2 juveniles, aged 16 and 17 were arrested in connection with the shooting and are being held at the Marion Juvenile Justice Center on charges of felonious assault.
