National Weather Service Issuing Flood Warning For Marion County

The National Weather Service is issuing a flood warning for parts of Marion County after heavy rains drenched the area over the weekend. The NWS issued the warning yesterday at 3:30 p.m. and said it would last until at least 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The area of the Scioto River near the village of LaRue was recorded at just below flood stage of eleven-feet on Sunday and is expected to crest at over 12-feet sometime today as runoff from streams enters the watershed. Officials expect the water in the river to fall back below flood levels by early Tuesday.
