Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash In Marion County

Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on August 24, 2019, at approximately 11:04 pm on Mount Olive-Green Camp Rd. (County Road 45) west of Patton-Riley Rd. (Township Road 55).

The crash involved a 2004 Honda Civic driven by William B. Imbody, age 60, of LaRue, Ohio. Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Imbody was traveling westbound on Mount Olive-Green Camp Rd, lost control, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a rock, a bush, a mailbox, a telephone box, and a tree.

Mr. Imbody was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner, Dr. Mark Davis. He was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a factor.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Green Camp Township Fire Department, MedCare EMS, and Buckeye Collision Services. The crash remains under investigation.
