Alleged Shawn Grate Victim Could Soon Be Identified

The identity of a body found off Victory Road in Marion County in 2007 maybe closer now. The woman is believed to have been killed suspected serial killer Shawn Grate.  The body is believed to be a woman between the ages of 15-30 years-old.

In January, investigators got back results from isotope testing, suggesting that the woman was from the southern United States. It was originally thought she was from outside of the country.

Shawn Grate reportedly confessed to killing the woman sometime between 2003 and 2005 and dumping her body at a site about 100 feet off the road, later returning to burn the evidence.

Grate's trial on aggravated murder charges in connection of the deaths of women from Ashland and Richland Counties, gets underway this week in Ashland.
