Marion Man Gets Seven Years For PNC Bank Robbery

A man, who was convicted of robbing the PNC Bank on Mount Vernon Ave in Marion, was sentenced to seven years in prison Friday.  Thomas A. Harris, Jr. age 33 of Marion, was sentenced for the same crime he committed eight years ago, when he robbed the Dew Drop DRIVE Thru of over $500 cash using a weapon.  Harris pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of aggravated robbery.The robbery of the PNC Bank took place last November,police alleged Harris gave a bank teller a note saying he was robbing the bank, and he had a gun and wanted $100 and $50 bills.Harris spoke briefly before the court Friday and apologized to the city and to his family, for his actions.
