Two Vehicle Crash Claims A Life

Delaware – The Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 10:28 P.M. on January 17, 2020, on U.S. 42 near SR 257, in Concord Township, Delaware County.

Brittanie M. Bruce, age 42, of Plain City, Ohio, was driving a red 2001 Ford F150 southwest bound on U.S. 42. Francisco M. Hernandez, age 46, of Delaware, Ohio, was driving a gray 2008 Dodge Avenger northeast bound on US 42 when it failed to maintain reasonable control, traveled over the centerline, and was struck by the Ford F150.

Mrs. Bruce, along with her passenger, Andrew M. Mays, age 42, of Columbus, Ohio, were transported by Delaware County EMS to Riverside Methodist Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Hernandez was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Delaware County Coroner. All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Next of kin has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Delaware County Fire & EMS and Concord Township Fire Department.
