Children in elementary school are mostly sweet while high schoolers are shooting for independence. But middle schoolers are somewhere between…and that can mean chaos.
As the school year begins, here’s what to look forward to.
- Will you get the one that’s sweet or the one that slams the door?
- Toying with independence. This is the time that kids try and stretch their wings. It may seem like rebellion, but it isn’t.
- Outside influences. This is where much in a child’s social life changes. Be there to support, but not interfere.
- Middle school is like mid life. There are a huge amount of changes, the least of which is hormonal, and oh do they eat.
Remember to be patient and not read too much into it if they brush you off.
