A recent study is suggesting that moderate drinking could have a negative impact on our brains. Doctor James Leverenz with the Cleveland Clinic didn't take part in the study, but says experts still aren't sure how much alcohol is 'safe' for the brain.
Researchers found that folks who reportedly drank alcohol had more difficulty coming up with words on impulse when tested. That included folks who drank in moderate amounts. The people who drank the most alcohol had the highest risk of brain shrinkage, which is a form of brain change that's been associated with Alzheimer's disease.
The trick to offset the bad news is staying physically and mentally active.
