Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is nursing five broken ribs after being jumped by his neighbor in what is now being called a dispute over landscaping.
Paul was finishing mowing his lawn when his neighbor, 59-year-old Rene Boucher, ran up from behind and tackled him. It was initially believed that politics may have motivated the attack, but investigators say the neighbors of 17 years have squabbled for years over yard waste on the property line. Neighbors say Senator Paul, who grows pumpkins on his property and also composts, leaves yard waste all over and has long ignored neighborhood regulations.
Boucher has been charged with fourth-degree assault, but the charge could be bumped up to a felony because of the severity of the senator's injuries. (CBS News)
