They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing - and not in a good way.
More and more people are going online for medical information causing the phones to ring more often at doctors' offices. A new survey by Merck Manuals reveals that 82-percent of doctors say their office phones are busier that ever with more people calling with medical questions about things they've read online.
Additionally, the vast majority of physicians, to the tune of 97%, say that patients are now coming to their offices with a lot of bad info as a result of their home-research. Because of their self-proclaimed expertise, the survey shows an increasing number of patients are likely to question the doctor's diagnosis and recommendations.
