Resources for Ohio teachers to teach cursive handwriting to students is coming back thanks to a new law signed by the governor yesterday. House Bill 58 was signed by Governor Kasich at the statehouse and will create a state-approved curriculum to teach students how to print letters by grade three and write in cursive by grade five. An earlier version of the bill made the teaching of cursive writing mandatory but the Ohio Senate changed the language to make it optional. The cursive writing curriculum is expected to be available for schools statewide next July.
