When brides-to-be insist on over-the-top demands and rules for their weddings, they get labeled a “bridezilla” and it’s not something most want to be known as. But Charlotte Skinner says she’s a “proud bridezilla” and she’s not ashamed of how she’s acting as she prepares to marry her fiancé Jack in August. The 31-year-old from the U.K. says she’s embracing her “inner diva” while planning her wedding and she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks.
"My bridesmaids know I'm a drama queen and a control freak,” Skinner admits, “it's just part of the territory of being my friend.”Although one of her bridesmaids must’ve crossed her because she got dumped and replaced by someone else at the last minute, to keep the numbers even.
The bride-to-be says her biggest rule is there are no strippers allowed at Jack’s bachelor party, telling her future husband if he wants to see other women get naked, “then go and be single.”
Skinner also isn’t letting Jack wear the green tweed suit he chose for the wedding, because she says she wants him to “look nice in the pictures” not like someone “threw up” on him. And she has rules about attire for her wedding guests as well. They’re not allowed to wear navy blue or blush pink, which is the color of her bridesmaids’ dresses. While she says only one guest protested this, she told her not to come if she doesn’t like it and she’s hiring a bouncer to keep people out who don’t comply with her dress code. “It’s our wedding,” the bridezilla explains, “if we wanted you to wear flamenco suits, that’s what you’d wear.”
