The First Lutheran Church of Shelby is pleased to announce that it will once again host a community-wide dinner this Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28th.

This free annual event traditionally serves several hundred persons in the church's social hall from noon to 2 pm on Thanksgiving Day.

But this event cannot succeed without the help of the many volunteers that help prepare and serve the food that day and the countless donations it receives to assist in this undertaking, according to Gaye Shira, event chairperson.

Thus, the church is actively soliciting donations of turkey, ham, pies and other traditional Thanksgiving food items along with volunteers to work that day.

If you are interested in helping or wish to make a monetary or food donation to help offset the cost of this undertaking, please contact Mrs. Shira at the church office at 33 Broadway Street in Shelby or by calling 419-347-7675.

Please feel free to contact Mrs. Shira with any questions and we hope to see you and your family on Thanksgiving Day.
