The Most Ethical Companies In The World

All too often, we hear about companies with shady practices, but it seems there are actually a lot of companies that are playing by the rules as best they can, and they're getting recognized for it. 

The Ethisphere Institute has come out their 11th annual World’s Most Ethical Companies list, which consists of 124 companies from 52 industry sectors, reprsenting 19 different countries. This year’s list also contains 13 companies that have been honored all 11 years of the list’s existence as well as eight first-time honorees.

Scores given to companies on the list are generated based on five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20%), culture of ethics (20%), governance (15%) and leadership, innovation and reputation (10%).

As for the United States, 98 companies made the list including, PepsiCo, Petco, Aflac, Dell Inc., Ford Motor Company, GE, Hasbro, Kellogg, Levi Strauss, LinkedIn, Mariott, Microsoft, Starbucks, Target and Xerox.
