Sports makes interesting bedfellows. If one report is right, a former Florida governor and a Yankee great could co-own the Miami Marlins soon.
Former governor Jeb Bush and Derek Jeter have both shown interest in buying the Marlins. Since another group of backers is showing they are tough competition for the purchase, sources say Bush and Jeter are willing to team up to outbid the group. The biggest question now is how much money they can raise. The asking price may be near 1.7 billion dollars.
Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is fielding offers but there’s no timetable for the sale.
