Newest Crayon Color Was A Happy Accident

Chemists stumbled upon the "striking blue" pigment while heating up chemicals in hopes of finding new substances that could be used in electronics. Crayon fans will have the chance to give the new color a name by submitting suggestions through Crayola's website, and will allow people to vote on the best name through August. The new crayon will be available in Crayola crayon boxes later in the year and will replace the retired Dandelion crayon.

Crayola is taking new name submissions until June 1
