Harvard Eliminating Library Fines Because They Stress Out Students

Harvard University is doing away with overdue book fines … because they might stress out students.

No joke.

Students used to have to pay a whopping 50 cents for every day a book is late.

But one Harvard official explained that these fines are causing stress for students, so they’re getting rid of them to help students “focus on their scholarship, rather than worrying about renewing library books every 28 days.”

Talk About It:

  • It might be time to get rid of papers and exams … you know … because of stress.
  • It’s a good thing the real world isn’t stressful, otherwise these kids would be in trouble.
