Your HP Computer May Have Been Spying On You

Several types of HP laptops could very well be recording every keystroke users make.

A Swiss security firm reported Thursday it discovered an audio driver with a keylogger installed on dozens of models, including HP Elitebooks, ProBooks and ZBooks. Anyone who had access to a file on the computer, through malware for instance, could have access to sensitive information including passwords and private messages. HP says the flaw was accidentally included in final versions of the shipped computers and is issuing a fix.

A patch was issued yesterday for 2016 models while 2015 should have an update ready today. Computers bought since at least Christmas 2015 are affected.
