Fidget spinners were created to help autistic children and relieve stress, anxiety, ADD, and ADHD. Since then they’ve gone viral with kids all over the world; and most of the are fine.
While the jury is out about the benefits to children, it turns out they do help adults. You may know that fidgety people do things like click pens, tap tables, and other annoying actions. Adults volunteered to share the extent of their restlessness.
Fidget cubes and spinners, according to researchers, believe the gadgets help adults, who are prone to interruption with their survival skills. “The Conversation” reports one scientist as saying about the toys, "They embody an enduring phenomenon that nearly everyone uses at some point – just watch your own behavior when doing desk work or sitting in meetings."
