Marion National Guardsman Honored at The Memorial

Staff Sgt. Josh Coleman of Marion was surprised a few months ago when he received word that he was selected to be part of Wednesday's Military Appreciation Day at The Memorial golf tournament in Dublin.

Josh, a Staff Seargeant in The Army National Guard, originally signed up for tickets and to be a caddy for the days Pro-Am event. Then he was surprised when he received a call from the Adjutant General's office informing him that he and his family was in for a lot more. They would soon find out that Staff Sgt. Coleman would be enjoying lunch with tournament founder and golf legend Jack Nicklaus, tournament honoree Greg Norman and Adjutant General Mark Bartman, along with his family. Besides the lunch company, Coleman was given special recognition for his service by Nicklaus and Norman.

Josh lives in Marion with his family and works for UPS. He has been part of the Army National Guard since 2002 and has seen deployments in Afghanistan, Kuwait and England. He was also called upon to assist after Hurricane Katrina.
