Author Chris Grabenstein Coming to Marion To Meet Students and Sign Books

It has been an impatient wait, but Let’s Read 20 and Marion Public Library are anticipating the arrival of well-known youth author Chris Grabenstein to Marion on Thursday, April 14. He was re-scheduled (due to COVID) from April 2020. Grabenstein will be spending the day with Marion students and concluding with a book signing at Marion Public Library at 5 p.m. The book signing is open to the public.

Chris Grabenstein writes fast-paced, fun page-turners primarily for elementary and middle-grade students. The Smartest Kid in the Universe – Genius Camp is the author’s newest book. Through a grant from Marion Community Foundation, 2,350 Shine! books were distributed to 3rd-5th graders in Marion County just before the event was canceled in 2020. We encourage those students who received Shine! to attend the signing to connect with the author and get his signature. There will be an additional 150 books given away free to attendees of the book signing.

Let’s Read 20 and Marion Public Library share a mission of literacy and the practice of connecting the community with authors. This is the third New York Times Best Selling Author to visit Marion in the past five months. This association reiterates the joy of reading with the author’s joy of writing. More information is available on upcoming author visits and events at MarionLibrary.org.
