Buckle up, Swifties. Taylor Swift has announced the lead single for her highly-anticipated new album The Tortured Poets Department and it includes a collaboration with another major artist.
The "Anti-Hero" singer took to Instagram on Thursday (April 18) to announce that "Fortnight" will be the first single from her upcoming album, which drops at midnight Friday (12 a.m. ET April 19). Additionally, an accompanying music video for the song will be released Friday night. She also revealed that the song features Post Malone, who she praised for crafting music that "[sticks] in your head forever."
"The first single from The Tortured Poets Department is............. Fortnight featuring @postmalone 🤍," she wrote in the caption, alongside a grayscale photo of the two award-winning musicians.
She also gushed about her collab partner, writing, "I've been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight. Honestly can't wait for you guys to hear this song at Midnight TONIGHT and see the video at 8 p.m."
Swifties can tune in to iHeartRadio, soon to be iHeartTaylor, at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m., to listen to The Tortured Poets DepartmentI in its entirety for the album premiere as well as hear an exclusive audio from the "Mastermind" singer as well.
