Here's today's feel-good story:
A new trend is catching on in 2022 called the Joy Of Missing Out (JOMO).
Kelley Breidigan, full-time senior community lecturer at The Ohio State University College of Social Work, describes it as the following:
“JOMO helps us to be present and not consumed with what we are missing, but rather to be aware of those elements of our life where we are content or fortunate. We can do this by designing our environments in ways that make it easier to 'miss out' and focus on what’s important to us.”
Practicing gratitude and awareness in the moment are things that are essential in supporting mental health. The key in not stressing about the Fear Of Missing Out is to not be so consumed with what you are missing out on.
