On 9/22/25 at 0020 hours, Marion Police Officers were speaking with witnesses while investigating an Assault and Aggravated Burglary in the 140 block of N. Grand Avenue. While standing on the front porch of a neighboring home to the original incident location, a vehicle drove past the residence and fired multiple shots at two police officers and four other persons who were standing on the front porch. Multiple rounds struck the residence and objects on the front porch but remarkably, nobody was struck or seriously injured. One officer was hit in the face by flying debris.

Utilizing Flock and other investigative resources, Officers were able to identify the involved vehicle and they subsequently located that vehicle parked in the 500 block of Park Street. Three males were taken into custody at that location and two of those individuals are facing criminal charges.

Isaiah D. Redmon of Marion, Ohio (Age 24) Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault, Felonious Assault of a Police Officer, Discharging a Firearm into a Habitation and Aggravated Burglary.

Tanner M. Harden of Marion, Ohio (Age 16) Complicity to the following charges; Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault, Felonious Assault of a Police Officer, Discharging into a Habitation and Aggravated Burglary.

A third male was released after being interviewed by police. The case will be forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a determination of formal charges.

"Only by the grace of God were multiple people not killed by this incredibly reckless and violent act. I am thankful for the ongoing work being completed by investigators in this case," said Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald.
