More than one-fourth of the people on Earth are on Facebook. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced yesterday that two-billion people use Facebook at least once a month. Hitting the two-billion mark comes a week after Facebook changed its mission statement for the first time.
The social network spent its first decade promoting itself as a service connecting small groups of friends and family. The new mission statement says, over the next decade Facebook wants to "give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together."
The company celebrated by creating photo montages of friends and family of each user.
