Call it zombie technology, but vinyl is back from the dead.
Sony says it's getting those old records off the shelf. Actually, the Japanese electronics giant is going to start making new vinyl records, nearly 30 years after it stopped. Sony Music Entertainment said yesterday it will start turning out freshly pressed vinyl records by March of next year. Sony is responding to surging demand for the retro music format. Sony says the big challenge now is finding older engineers who know how to make vinyl records.
