It seems America has a trust issue with its leader. A recently released poll shows three-quarters of Americans do not trust President Trump. The CNN poll published Monday night shows that 38-percent of people approve of Trump's performance while 56-percent say they disapprove. The poll also shows Trump is doing worse among his base. His approval rating fell from 73-percent to 59-percent among Republicans. Among non-college educated white people, 35-percent of those polled strongly approved of Trump, 12 points less than when polled in February.
While the President's approval rating drops, on the flips side another new poll shows Americans are feeling better about the economy. The CBS News poll out this morning shows 36-percent of Americans approve of Trump's job performance. That's the same as the last CBS poll in June, but Trump's disapproval rating is up one point, to 58-percent. However, more people say the economy is in good shape.
This morning's poll finds 69-percent of people surveyed say the economy is good, while 30-percent say it's bad. In June, the numbers on the economy were 64-percent good versus 34-percent bad.
