Dawnetta Heinz, from Omaha, Nebraska, had just celebrated her first anniversary and got to thinking about the dress. She was moving and it was just sitting there, so it got listed on a Facebook buy/sell/trade group for women who couldn’t afford a dress.
12 people responded! That’s when Heinz came up with the idea for the ladies to pass it to the next person. Arianna Po, the first of the sharers to don the dress says it’s like the “sisterhood of the traveling dress.” When she put it on, it fit like a glove.
Heinz plans on circulating the dress as long as it holds out.
