Beto Matias was hawking his ‘dogs on campus when a police officer citied him for not having a permit. Then, the officer took the 60 dollars Matias had in his wallet and said it was being “confiscated for evidence.” A school alumn, Martin Flores, had just bought a hotdog and filmed the exchange.
The video went viral and Flores started a GoFundMe effort. The video has over 11 million views, so it’s no surprise that the crowd funding has raised over 70-thousand dollars.
During the filming Flores asked why the policeman was taking Matias’ money “Yeah, well he doesn’t have a permit. He doesn’t have a permit,” the officer responds. “Yep, this is law and order in action … Thank you for your support.”
Matias does admit that he didn’t have a proper permit.Source: Sacramento Bee
