The study published this week in the journal "Nature Geoscience" explains that the Earth has warmed slower than expected, meaning that the planet has a slightly better chance of meeting the most ambitious goals set out in the Paris climate accord, including limiting global warming to two-point-seven degrees Fahrenheit. But the findings don't downplay the threat of climate change, maintaining that major reductions in carbon emissions is required to achieve those climate goals.
