People Spend More Time in The Loo Than Exercising

Experts have told us all time and time again that exercise is good for our health but it seems a lot of us still aren’t getting the message. In fact, according to a UK survey, which could easily translate here, folks are actually spending more time in the bathroom than they are staying fit.

That’s right, a survey of 2,000 people conducted by UKactive finds that the average person spends about three hours and nine minutes doing their bathroom business each week, but only spends about 90 minutes each week exercising. And what’s worse, 26% of people admit they spend 30 minutes or less of their week working out.

Meanwhile, we’ve all heard that sitting is really bad for our health, yet the survey finds that 64% of people sit down at least six hours a day, while only 12% of those surveyed know how much exercise is needed to stay healthy.

As for why people aren’t exercising, being too busy with work is the biggest excuse (20%), followed by family commitments (18% of women/12% of men).
