Yesterday afternoon, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told reporters that he expected to “have significant new information in the 48 hours.” Now we know why – as the girlfriend of the suspected gunman in the Las Vegas mass shooting has arrived in the U.S. from the Philippines. She apparently went to the Philippines late last month.
And when Marilou Danley arrived in Los Angeles, she was met by federal agents at the airport. Lombardo himself confirmed Danley as a “person of interest” in the investigation into the shooting that left at least 58 people dead and hundreds more hurt.
Among other things that law enforcement folks want to know: while they don’t believe she was involved in the plot, investigators want to know why the alleged shooter transferred 100-thousand dollars to a bank account in the Philippines. A source close to the Danley family has said the money was part of a long-term plan to help Danley and her family build a home in the island nation.
- President Trump heads to Las Vegas today as that city continues to reel from what he calls “an act of pure evil.” The president is expected to meet with families of victims and first responders.
