Did you know that using artificial sweeteners may lead to obesity and disease?
Doctor Mark Hyman is with the Cleveland Clinic. Doctor Hyman says artificial sweeteners may slow metabolism and affect the brain. That may cause feelings of hunger and result in eating more. He adds that doctors are now learning that artificial sweeteners may change bacteria in the gut which can lead to inflammation, insulin-resistance and pre-diabetes. The good doctor recommends avoiding artificial sweeteners, and sweetening food and drink with sugar instead.
