Two cooling towers at Disneyland have been shut down and are being disinfected for the third time following an outbreak of Legionnaire's Disease.
Orange County health officials say that 12 people came down with the lung infection after nine of them visited the Disneyland Resort in September, while the other three live in or were visiting Anaheim. They ranged in age from 52 to 94.
Legionnaire's Disease is caused by exposure to contaminated water or mist. The Orange County Healthcare Agency says there haven't been any new cases in nearly a month-and-a-half. Of those infected, ten were hospitalized and one – who is described as having “additional health issues” has died.
The good news? Officials say there is no ongoing risk.
