The Bachelor debuted on ABC last night. Race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. met 29 women.
Fans of the franchise might recognize Arie. Five years ago, he appeared on The Bachelorette. Arie went to the fantasy suite with Emily Maynard, who chose Jeff Holm over Arie.
He’s returned to find a bride. Arie’s revealed that during the taping he fell in love with two of the 29 women he met last night.
Three take-aways from the first night:
- Chelsea earned the “first impression” rose. She’s aggressive and brought the drama. Chelsea is not there to make friends. She’s upset learning that Brittany got to kiss Arie. She also talks trash about Maquel’s arrival in a Formula One racecar.
- ABC producers picked four women named Lauren to date Arie. Odds are that at least one of them will make it the hometown dates. And for clarity, hopefully Arie eliminates a couple of Laurens soon.
- Arie is much older than the ladies. He celebrated his 36th birthday two days before taping began. Most of the women are between 10 and 15 years younger. (The Wrap)
