A fast food burger flipping robot is apparently too popular.
As we told you before, Flippy is a 100-thousand-dollar robot that can cook on the grill at Caliburger, a Pasadena-based restaurant. It can make about two-thousand burgers a day, but once word got out this week, demand surged. So did the crowds just coming to look.
Instead of overwhelming the restaurant, Flippy has been shut off for this weekend. It'll be back up and running Monday after some fine-tuning to make sure it can handle the amped up lunch rush.
