One of the unspoken requirements of being a royal is they must be a member of the Anglican Church… Church of England. That’s no longer an issue for Prince Harry’s bride-to-be.
Though in modern times the tradition isn’t enforced, the “Daily Mail” reports that Meghan Markle was baptized by the Archbishop of Canturbury on Tuesday and he did it with holy water from the River Jordan. The ceremony was kept under wraps and happened after she was taught about the church and its rites in recent weeks. Prince Charles was on hand, as was Prince Harry and a handful of royal aides.
Immediately after the baptism, she had her confirmation, which gives her the ability to join in Holy Communion during the wedding. Queen Elizabeth is considered the head of the Church of England.
