No More Signing Credit Card Slips!

The checkout line might move a little faster by the end of the month as paying for a purchase is about to get more streamlined.

Within the next couple of weeks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover will eliminate the need for shoppers to sign receipts for credit and debit sales. Yes, your signature on a receipt is about to become extinct thanks to technology.

Let’s face it, when was the last time your signature was rejected anyway? But, the change is going to be optional and some stores may want to continue getting you to sign on the dotted line.

The encryption within new credit card chips and other measures by companies have helped to increase security without the need for a signature. Many cards currently don't require a signature for small purchases.

In case you didn’t know, charge cards date back to the 1920’s.
