After years of trying to figure it out, researchers think they know why we over eat and become obese.
That’s the good news. The bad news is they believe it’s foods that combine carbs and fats. Yes, that is a lot of what we eat! The combo seems to make our brains go haywire. Brain scans showed it was more rewarding than foods that only had fats or carbohydrates. It kicked in the greedy response.
Researchers at the Modern Diet and Physiology Research Center at Yale University say processed foods are the culprit. They affect our physiology differently than natural foods. Obviously, that means if you want to lose weight try and reduce they foods with the dangerous duo. Rule of thumb? If it’s not “in nature” but made made, think before you eat.
Some foods on the caution list? Pizza, burgers and pasta with creamy sauces…among others.
