A University at Buffalo study had people anonymously fill out a questionnaire about their drinking and eating habits. The results showed that people are more likely to eat salty, fatty snacks before bed after a night of drinking.
The researchers said they believe that drinking causes blood glucose levels to rise and fall, which makes you feel hungry. Surprisingly, there isn’t much research on the subject, so more studies will follow.
Here’s how the lead author breaks it down: a beer is 150 calories, pizza, tacos and whatever else you eat while drinking is at least 720. That’s nearly a day’s intake of calories.
