Tobacco use among middle and high school students is on the rise. The CDC reports nearly five-million students are current users of some type of Tobacco product in 2018, that’s up from three-point-six-million in 2017.
To put it in perspective, nearly 21% of high school students – or 3-million, vaped in 2018. What’s causing the spike? Officials say it’s driven by a surge in e-cigarette use. And while about two-in-five students are using multiple tobacco products (including cigarettes and hookahs) only e-cigarettes saw a meaningful increase in use.
