Today's "Way Back Time Warp Songs" Are Still Played Everyday On The Radio!

Today's "Way Back Time Warp" songs are very familiar to all of you, as they are played everyday on radio and on your personal iHeartRadio stations, if you're an 80's nut like I am!

We start in 1980 when REO Speedwagon released a song that Kevin Cronin wrote, the band disliked and Gary Richrath made into an "REO Song" by adding the power rock chords.

Kevin explains the day he brought the song to a band rehearsal, they weren't thrilled with the tune until Gary did his magic and it became a huge hit. Number one, in fact, in March of 1981.

Our second "Way Back Time Warp" song today is from Mr. Mister.

"Kyrie" was written by John Lang and he explains that he wrote the song as a prayer, using "Kyrie Eleison," which is "Lord, Have Mercy, Christ, have Mercy, Lord, Have Mercy."

"Kyrie" hit number one on March 1, 1986 and stayed there for two weeks.

Listen to the "2pm Time Warp" every Friday on Mix 103.3 FM and iHeartRadio, powered by T&D Interiors.
