When Army veteran Edward Pearson died last month, his obituary said he would be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery, that he had no immediate family, and "all are welcome to attend." And yesterday, THOUSANDS did.
The obituary went viral and got the attention of Florida Senator Rick Scott and a lot of other people. "He's part of the veterans family. That's why I'm here," David Marsters offered. He drove more than two hours from Lady Lake, Florida and adds, "You never leave anybody behind."
Pearson was 80. See footage of the service to the right.
