Healthy Habits We Discovered During Corona We Should Hang On To!

When the coronavirus hit and pushed us into lockdown, we had to adapt to the challenges of working from home and feeling isolated. But it gave us the chance to reevaluate what’s important to us and time to focus on them. The silver lining is that some of the distractions we turned to during quarantine are actually good for us and these are a few worth holding on to.

  • Regular check-ins on your mental health - Being forced to slow down and literally stay in one place has given us time to pay more attention to what we’re thinking and feeling. This is a good thing, so try to keep it up by being mindful and tuning in to your emotions.
  • Getting creative with a new hobby - If you learned to knit or crochet during lockdown, try to stick with it. Studies show people who indulge their creative side are happier and even perform better at work so it’s a good use of your time and energy.
  • Making time for exercise - Those sweat sessions are good for both physical and mental health, plus working out releases serotonin and that brings a boost of happiness we could all use.
  • Spending time in the kitchen - Lots of folks got in on the quarantine cooking trend, making loaves of sourdough and meals from scratch and found they really like doing it. Cooking for yourself may also help you make healthier food choices, so it’s a good habit to continue.
  • Indulging in self-care - During our time at home, many people have realized you don’t need two hours at the spa to feel refreshed and that just taking short breaks to pamper yourself can have a big impact. Self-care can be anything that brings you joy and giving yourself that leaves you more energized and ready to deal with what life brings.
